5.Memory
CLABisequippedwith2MBofFlash(non‐volatile)memory,and128KBofFRAM
memory.
FlashmemorycontainstheCLABinternaloperatingsystem(firmware)andcanbe
rewritten to update the firmware. As new functionality becomes available, you
candownloadthefirmware fromtheCMAwebsitetoyour
computerandupdate
yourCLAB.FirmwareupdatesarealsoincludedwiththeCoachsoftware.
FRAMmemoryofCLABcontains:
thelocalsensorlibrary,
currentCLABexperimentsettingsandsensordefinitions,
measureddatafile‐whichcanconsistofuptoatotalof60,000datapoints.
In
theCoachsoftwareitispossibletousethebufferinacyclicway,resultingina
measurementupto500,000points.
If CLABis switched off, allmemory contents‐Flash andFRAM‐are maintained.
FRAM is maintained as long as the battery is not completely depleted; Flash is
always maintained. However, the Flash memory can be rewritten to update the
localsensorlibraryandthefirmware.

Firmware Update. This program can be
